How to Apply for a Grant

The Del Cotto Family Foundation accepts a limited number of grant applications each year. Our process is designed to be straightforward and respectful of your time.

1

Review Eligibility and Focus Areas

Before applying, please review our What We Fund page to ensure your organization:

  • Is a 501(c)(3) public charity Has at least 3 years of operating history

  • Serves communities within about 100 miles of Pittsburgh 

  • Aligns with one or more of our focus areas: holistic medicine, holistic cancer support, and veterans and military families

Submit an Inquiry

We encourage organizations to start with a brief inquiry. You can either: 

  1. Complete our Grant Inquiry form below, or

  2. Email us a short description of your organization and proposed funding need.

Invitation to Apply

Based on your inquiry, we may invite you to submit a full proposal. If invited, we will provide additional information and request that you fill out a detailed application so as to further consider your interest in the Foundation

The Foundation is a private foundation recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501 (C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation will be funded exclusively by the Armand L.Del Cotto Dynasty Trust, which will make periodic contributions to support its mission. The Foundation supports nonprofit 501 (C) (3) organizations that advance holistic healing, whole-person wellness, strengthen wellbeing, build resilience, and create meaningful outcomes for the communities they serve. the Foundation's primary activity is making grants to qualified  501 (C) (3) organizations engaged in charitable, educational, religious, or scientific activities. The Foundation does not conduct direct charitable programs but instead distributes funds to organizations that align with its mission, said determination to be made after a thorough review of the applicant by the Foundation's Board of Directors as hereinafter noted.
